How the estimate works

  • 2026/27 Personal Allowance of £12,570, reduced by £1 for every £2 of adjusted net income above £100,000; it reaches zero at £125,140.
  • England, Wales and Northern Ireland use 20%, 40% and 45% taxable-income bands.
  • Scotland uses its 2026/27 starter, basic, intermediate, higher, advanced and top rates.
  • Standard employee Class 1 National Insurance (category A): 8% between £12,570 and £50,270, then 2% above £50,270.

This is an annualised estimate, not a PAYE payslip simulator. It excludes workplace pension contributions, salary sacrifice, student-loan repayments, benefits in kind, tax-code adjustments, Marriage Allowance, other taxable income, National Insurance category variations and payroll-period rounding. The NI calculation uses annual earnings thresholds; actual payroll deductions can vary by pay period.
